About Rachel

ncs.jpg

Hello! My name is Rachel.

I am a fully qualified counsellor trained to Level 5 Diploma.  I'm passionate about providing the opportunity for people to feel heard, valued and accepted no matter what they are going through.

Prior to my counselling career I worked in healthcare, with 17 years of experience in oncology care.  I have loved working within this area and I have always felt a great need to provide the space for people to be able to talk and feel supported at such a difficult time.

Within my counselling career I have worked with people who experience issues such as low self esteem, depression, stress, work stress,  bereavement and loss, miscarriage, relationship issues, bullying, abuse, anxiety and spirituality.  If there are other issues you wish to explore please feel free to give me a call.

In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, watching films, meeting with friends, going for walks and visiting the seaside.

Counselling Style

I am a Person Centred Counsellor, which means that I work in a relational way.  I provide a therapeutic relationship based on acceptance and honesty.   Whatever you may come with I am interested in hearing what your experience has been and what is going on for you now.  I believe that being able to talk, reflect and explore can bring understanding and confidence in your own feelings, thought processes and decisions.

Within this calm, confidential, and supportive space you can talk about what feels important for you.  You will be valued, accepted and heard.  I believe there is always the potential for change and personal development if so desired.  I have a calm and gentle nature, offering each of my clients the assurance and support they need to help them get the most out of their counselling sessions.

Having my own room for counselling appointments helps to ensure I can provide a calm, safe and private space for face to face counselling services as well as appointments over the phone or online.
